European Commission: Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation
Accreditation recognition requires updated verification
Confirmed: The former International Accreditation Forum ceased operations on 1 January 2026 and its legacy site directs users to the new global accreditation cooperation structure.
Why it matters
Certificate acceptance depends on the issuing body’s current accreditation scope and recognition chain—not a logo alone. Buyers and authorities should verify live status using the correct current sources.
Practical response
Update supplier-approval procedures, verify certificates and scopes at source, and record the recognition route used for each critical certificate.
EU energy savings require stronger performance evidence
Confirmed: Under the revised Energy Efficiency Directive, the annual energy-savings obligation rises to 1.5% for 2026–2027.
Why it matters
Energy-efficiency claims and financed upgrades require reliable baselines, calibrated measurement, commissioning records and transparent calculations.
Practical response
